Hello, I am a Hydrogeologist turned Product Designer based in Toronto. I create products surrounding people's habits and workflows.
Education
In 2016, I received my B.Sc. in Earth Science from the University of Waterloo.
Experience
After graduation, I worked for 5 years as a Project Manager & Estimator in the environmental consulting industry. I even got my Professional Geoscientist certification!
Practicing transferable skills
Throughout my career, I would create templates within AutoCAD and Excel to help streamline workflow. I would share these with my colleagues and make changes based on their feedback. However, I quickly saw the limitations within these programs.
Learning design
In 2021, I found out about Product Design. I saw the potential in its approach to creating products that seamlessly work with people. To learn more, I completed the UX Design Bootcamp at Springboard.
Interests
I am especially interested in using research to create intuitive user flows that replicate people's habits/workflows and creating prototypes and design systems within Figma.
My Goals
As I work toward being a better Product Designer, my design objective at its core is to help those around me find simpler ways to achieve their goals.
